This is a two day course covering map reading and basic compass skills with plenty of time to practice in the outdoors. The course is suitable for complete beginners or for those with some experience with maps who would like a refresher. The course is a step-by-step guide to map reading. The first morning and part of the second morning is spent indoors and we cover between 3 and 5 miles each day at a leisurely pace.

For those who require a NNAS certificate and badge, these can be ordered and paid for on successful completion of the course (£10 fee). The compass element is very basic on the course and compasses can be borrowed (£10 returnable deposit).
