A Walk Through London’s Parks
Join us on our walk which takes us on a lovely route through the heart of London using a wonderfully green corridor of linked parkland. Our path takes us through Holland Park, Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’s Park and ends in Parliament Square. The parks all have their own individual character and history and provide a unique view of London. During our walk, we will visit the memorial to women who participated in WW2 in Whitehall, Millicent Fawcett’s statue in Parliament Square and the memorial to the Pankhursts by the Houses of Parliament. Please bring a packed lunch so that we can linger in one of the parks and enjoy the greenery to the full. We will stop at a cafe in the morning and, at the end of the walk, there will be time for tea and cake too should you wish.
The walk is around 7 miles with few gradients and ends near St James’s Park and Westminster tube statiosn on the District and Circle Lines. There are a number of options to shorten the walk should you wish to do so as we pass by tube stations and bus stops.
The day is led by Barbara Hamilton, an experienced walking guide who lives in the heart of London.
