There are so many well-known peaks accessible from our base in the Borrowdale Valley that it is difficult to choose which ones to tackle on this guided walking break. It feels important to include England’s highest mountain on any holiday that is based on the classic peaks of the Lake District and so, Scafell Pike will be a definte on the list. Otherwise, we will choose our peaks based on the weather and the group. Possibilities include: Haystacks, Wainwright’s favourite peak; Great Gable; Green Gable; Red Pike; High Spy…the list goes on.

A good level of fitness is required for this one as you will be tackling some big peaks which, whilst mainly on good paths, have elements of loose ground plus some basic scrambling for short sections.

We will be staying at the Glaramara Hotel which has been transformed over the last few years into an extremely comfortable hotel with an excellent menu and bar. The holiday is full board so once you’re there you will spend very little.

Twin Shared Ensuite £635/ Single Ensuite £735/ Single Occupancy of a Double Ensuite £760 Included in Price: Full board accommodation; Transport to walks; Guided walks each day Not included: Transport to venue; Insurance; Personal expenses
We will be staying at the Glaramara Hotel in Seatoller at the head of the Borrowdale Valley. It has been refurbished over recent years and is very comfortable with excellent food and a good bar on site.
Your guide for this holiday is Rachel Bolton. Rachel is a qualified Mountain Leader, a member of the Mountain Training Association and the British Mountaineering Council. Rachel is passionate about being in the outdoors walking, scrambling, winter mountaineering and climbing. She is currently working towards her Winter Mountain Leader qualification.
The Glaramara Hotel is in Seatoller, Keswick CA12 5XQ. By Public Transport: The nearest train station is Penrith which is 25 miles away. You can then get a bus to Seatoller changing in Keswick. The connections are generally good and it is a scenic journey. A taxi from Penrith is around £60 and we are happy to arrange a shared taxi at 4pm if enough women are interested (not included). By Car: The accommodation is 7 miles from Keswick. Take M60 to Penrith and then head to Keswick then Seatoller.
