The walks are between 7.5 and 10 miles with around 1000m of ascent/ descent on some days. The trails are rocky and uneven in places and there is some basic scrambling involved at times. A good level of fitness is required.
We stay at Bryn Engan, a large self catering cottage near Plas y Brenin National Outdoor Centre in Capel Curig. Guests have access to the bar, gym and restaurant at the centre which is a 5 minute walk away.

Your guide for this holiday is Rachel Bolton, a fabulous leader who is compassionate and flexible. Rachel is a very safe pair of hands and a qualified Mountain Leader, a member of the Mountain Training Association and the British Mountaineering Council. She is passionalte about the outdoors and has extensive knowledge of the Lake District, Scotland and the Peak Dsitrict in particular. She holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and worked with children as a teacher and headteacher for nearly 30 years. She is also a qualified Alexander Technique teacher. Rachel is passionate about being in the outdoors walking, scrambling, winter mountaineering and climbing. She is currently working towards her Winter Mountain Leader qualification.

By train: The closest major station is Llandudno Junction, which is just under 20 miles away. You can change here to catch a train or bus to Betws y Coed which is 6 miles from the accommodation. We can organise a shared taxi for anybody arriving around 4.30pm (not included).
