The Borrowdale Valley is reputed to be the most beautiful valley in England. Running from the shores of Derwentwater to the Honister Pass, there is much to admire along the way. Surrounded by imposing high peaks, we will explore the lower reaches of the valley on this low moderate guided walking holiday.

We will head for Castle Crags with its fine views over Derwentwater where we will also spend a day exploring. Cat Bells which overlooks the lake is another possibility worth the effort for the 360 degree views. We will also follow some of the gullies up towards the higher reaches of the area – there is high drama to be had even at these lower levels.

We will be staying at the Glaramara Hotel which has been transformed over the last few years into an extremely comfortable hotel with an excellent menu and bar. The holiday is full board so once you’re there you will spend very little.

Twin Shared Ensuite £635/ Single Ensuite £735/ Single Occupancy of a Double Ensuite £760 Included in Price: Full board accommodation; Transport to walks; Guided walks each day Not included: Transport to venue; Insurance; Personal expenses
We will be staying at the Glaramara Hotel in Seatoller at the head of the Borrowdale Valley. It has been refurbished over recent years and is very comfortable with excellent food and a good bar on site.
Your guide for this holiday is Clare Kelly who runs Her on a Hill and has 20+ years experience of guiding walking holidays all over the world.
The Glaramara Hotel is in Seatoller, Keswick CA12 5XQ. By Public Transport: The nearest train station is Penrith which is 25 miles away. You can then get a bus to Seatoller changing in Keswick. The connections are generally good and it is a scenic journey. A taxi from Penrith is around £60 and we are happy to arrange a shared taxi at 4pm if enough women are interested (not included). By Car: The accommodation is 7 miles from Keswick. Take M60 to Penrith and then head to Keswick then Seatoller.
