There are some big mountains in the Lake District and at times it may feel as if you just can’t manage them. Well this holiday is designed to tackle those beautiful peaks at a slower pace in order to make them achievable. Clearly a good level of fitness is still required to climb these mountains but as long as you have the stamina to keep going you ‘ll get there. So if you fancy climbing some of the Lake District’s most famous mountains then this is the holiday for you.

We hope to include Blencathra, Skiddaw, Glaramara and Scafell Pike with a shorter, easier walk on the last day perhaps to Castle Crags or Catbells. We will be opting for the easiest routes on each mountain although this may still involve rough terrain in places. You will be fully supported by your guide so this is the perfect opportunity to give it a go.

We will be staying at the Glaramara Hotel which has been transformed over the last few years into an extremely comfortable hotel with an excellent menu. The holiday is full board so once you’re there you will spend very little – other than on your bar bill.

The walks will be up to 11 miles with approximately 900m of ascent on some days. The pace will be slower than average which will result in easier walking but longer days. There will be time to take in the scenery, enjoy the views and take rests along the way.
We will be staying at the Glaramara Hotel in Seatoller at the head of the Borrowdale valley. It has been refurbished over recent years and is very comfortable with excellent food and a good bar on site.
Your guide for this holiday is Clare.
