Peak District: Eyam Moor and Offerton Moor Moderate
If you enjoy moorland walking, then this one is for you. Leaving the bustle of Hathersage, we head south to Eyam Moor where we will hope for long range views across the moors. From our high point, we head down into Abney Clough before heading back uphill to cross quiet Offerton Moor. With spendid views across the Hope Valley, this moor is a real hidden gem. Our descent is through moorland towards the River Derwent and back to our starting point in Hathersage where you will find some excellent outdoor shops.
Grade: Moderate. The walk is 8.5 miles long with 600m of ascent. A reasonable level of fitness is required. The terrain is mainly on moorland paths, can be boggy in places, and fields with some walking on minor roads.
