Ramsgate Kent Weekend Grade: Leisurely
£420.00
Fancy a weekend away from it all? Feel the need for some fresh sea air, scenic coastal walking and a bit of company along the way? Join us for this holiday based in the coastal town of Ramsgate in east Kent. With the largest marina on the south coast and elegant Regency architecture, Ramsgate is a great base for a walking holiday.
On Saturday, we will walk along gentle coastal paths from Margate, the home of the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery to elegant Broadstairs with the option of continuing to Ramsgate. There are sea views aplenty on this panoramic stretch of coastline. On Sunday, we will head to the beautiful Medieval Sandwich with its winding streets and architectural gems. We will walk in the surrounding countryside to the coast and back to the centre of this small town.
If you can arrive by 2.30pm on Friday, there will be a guided tour of Ramsgate itself with its links to WWII and, among others, Vincent Van Gogh.
We will stay at a small, comfortable B&B and hope to have exclusive use. Our host, Denise, can also arrange massage, reflexology, reiki and gong baths with trusted local partners.
Feedback from a previous trip:“I just wanted to say that I very much enjoyed the Ramsgate holiday last March. I found it a very interesting area to visit, and the itinerary was well thought out, I came back feeling I had seen a lot of the area in just 2 days. The restaurants where we ate were well chosen and, I felt, just right.
Barbara, as always, was a caring, patient and interesting guide, her enthusiasm for the area came across, she took into account everyone’s different needs , was flexible in the options offered and she helped the group gel together.
I felt that Barbara was exceptional in the way she took an interest in each person in the group, she really made the trip a success and I have great memories of the weekend.” Seri
