Join us on this adventure of a lifetime, exploring the culture and sights of this fascinating country. The trip has been put together for Her on a Hill by Mongolia expert Jess from Eternal Landscapes. We explore the heart of Mongolia supporting local women along the way. It is a country of vast open spaces and has a unique and captivating culture. Many of the people we meet along the way live a very traditional lifestyle, passed on through generations. We will get a real sense of what life is like for the Mongolian people and experience their hospitality first hand.

We stay in a mixture of small, basic hotels and traditional gers. The hotels are based on twin shared rooms although singles are available on 2 nights at no extra charge. The gers are shared bewteen 2 and 6 women.
This is a sighseeing and touring trip rather than a walking tour. When walks are offered during the stay they are optional. There is a lot of travelling mainly by road so a good level of stamina is required. Travelling through the extraordinary landscape is an important part of the holiday - not just a means of getting from A to B. We use Furgon 4 x4 vehicles with a high wheelbase, ample luggage space, and surround windows that make for comfortable travelling – the Furgon is perfect for the wild terrain of Mongolia. Having these larger vehicles means each vehicle has its own simple mobile kitchen and sunshade.
We will have a female Mongolian tour guide throughout the trip, a local male driver and many of our hosts are Mongolian women and their families. Clare Kelly will be joining the trip as she really wants to see visit Mongolia.
Flights to Ulaanbaatar are with Turkish Airlines via Istanbul. There will be a private transfer meeting certain flights - tbc 6 months in advance. You can purchase your flight independently via the airline.
