Woodland Walk with Fran Halsall: Surprise View
Join woodland expert Fran Halsall for a walk at the Longshaw Estate, exploring contrasting moorland and woodland habitats. A key theme will be the differences inhabitat provided by the closed canopy woodland planted with beech and the pioneer woodland upon the moor. A set of notes on tree ID designed to accompany the walk will be available to download afterwards.
The walk is around 2.5 miles. Although the route is mostly easy it does include moderate ascents and descents, and some rocky and potentially uneven paths. Park and meet at Surprise View pay and display car park.
Meeting Point: Surprise View Car Park, Hathersage Road. On the main road between Fox House, Sheffield and Hathersage.
