Join Her on a Hill on this fabulous journey through Japan where we will be taking in the highlights of the country’s popular Golden Route. This truly special sightseeing trip is a great introduction to life in Japan. We  begin our trip in the vibrant city of Tokyo, a unique and fascinating place buzzing with life. After a guided tour of the highlights, we then head to Hakone with beautiful vistas of Mt Fuji on a clear day.

Next, we head to the ancient city of Kyoto with time to explore on our own and also on a guided tour. The following day we can head out for a day trip to Nara, the former capital, with its monuments and extensive deer park. The next day we have an optional guided tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima Island.  Miyajima Island is known for its forests, ancient temples and the Great Torii Gate which lies just offshore and is partially submerged at high tide.

We then head to Tsumago and Magome where there is an option to walk a section of the Old Samurai Trail. We then stay at a traditional ryokan where we have the opportunity to experience a peaceful, rural environment.

We also visit the imposing Matsumono castle and Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park before finally returning to Tokyo to enjoy a free day to take in the sights at our leisure before heading home. It is a truly memorable trip and ideal for the first time visitor to Japan.
