Explore the beauty of Vietnam and Cambodia on this captivating sightseeing tour. Highlights include Hanoi Old Quarter, an overnight Halong Bay Cruise, the ancient town of Hoi An, a Ho Chi Minh City tour, the local villages along the Mekong Delta, the temples of the Angkorian period including Angkor Wat.
Itinerary (subject to change)
Day 1: Leave UK on overnight flight to Hanoi
Day 2: Arrive in Hanoi and meet our local guide and driver at the airport. Transfer to the hotel where the rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy the city.
Day 3: Hanoi This morning, we have a sightseeing tour of Hanoi taking in the major sights followed by a rickshaw ride around the Old Quarter and a traditional Water Puppet Show.
Day 4: Halong Bay Today we head off on our luxury overnight cruise in Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning limestone mountains which rise up through emerald waters. Enjoy optional extras or simply relax onboard enjoying the scenery.
Day 5 Halong Bay and Hoi An On our return route, we stop to visit the splendid Sung Sot Cave before arriving back on land. We transfer to Hanoi airport for our short flight to Hoi An where we have time to settle in and relax.
Day 6 Hoi An Hoi An is an exceptionally well preserved fishing port and a delight to explore. We will have a guided tour to see both the centre and outlying countryside.
Day 7: Ho Chi Minh Today, we take the internal flight from Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh where there will be time to explore at leisure.
Day 8: Ho Chi Minh: This morning we set out to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, an elaborate network of tunnels used during the Vietnam War. In the afternoon, we return to Ho Chi Minh to take in the cultural highlights of the city.
Day 9: Mekong Delta The Mekong Delta, a large fertile river delta host to floating markets and extensive rice fields, is a must see on any trip to Vietnam. Today we take a boat ride through coconut groves and meet the locals who call the Mekong Delta home, utilising its natural resources to make a living.
Day 10: Siem Reap Cambodia awaits us today as we transfer to Siem Reap by air. On arrival, there is free time to explore your surroundings.
Day 11: Siem Reap Our guided tour takes us to visit the unique architectural gems of the area with the afternoon spent at UNESCO World Heritage Site, Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world.
Day 12: Siem Reap Today we visit 10th century Banteay Srei also known as the “Citadel of Women” and 2 further historic temples. There will be opportunities to stop in small villages along the way to learn about the local way of life.
Day 13: Return Flight Transfer to the airport for our flight home.
Day 14: Arrive home after overnight flight.
